Kyutech joined an online workshop “2021 Global Universities Partnership on SDGs and Industrial-Academic Workshop” held from 5 to 8 October 2021, which was hosted by National Chin-Yi University of Technology (NCUT), one of Kyutech’s partner universities located in Taichung City, Taiwan.
This workshop aimed to explore the opportunities for academic collaborations with NCUT’s overseas partners under COVID-19 pandemic. In this workshop, multiple online joint seminars were held between NCUT and each partner university on the theme of SDGs and industrial-academic collaborations. For the session for Kyutech on 7 October, one professor each from both universities gave a lecture on the following theme, and 62 students and faculty members attended.

Lecture title: “What is education for the SDGs like?”
In the lectures, Assis. Prof. Chen introduced a problem solving project for agricultural industry with advanced technologies and also NCUT’s educational program for students which let them join the project. Assoc. Prof. Ota gave a lecture on the role of education to realize social transformation based on SDGs, and also the key competencies which the education should nourish in students.
In the Q&A session, the professors received questions on the educational programs being implemented at NCUT and Kyutech, which brought a great opportunity for both universities to exchange information on each other’s on-going projects.
