On 24 October 2019, BIRDS project received The Better Satellite World Awards.

The Better Satellite World Awards, which are awarded by Space & Satellite Professionals International (SSPI), are given to organizations or individuals that demonstrate the use of satellites that contribute to human welfare, good governance, safety, peace and stability, improved education, and other global benefits.
