MSSC receives Kyutech undergraduate students for short-term mobility program at UPM

MSSC, Kyutech's satellite campus in Malaysia, received a total of 18 undergraduate students along with 2 officers from Kyutech who visited UPM for UPM-Kyutech Study Abroad Program from March 5 to 18, 2019.

The purpose of this program is to expose Kyutech undergraduate students to foreign countries and introduce to them the differences between Malaysia and Japan in various aspects.
During their stay, they sit in UPM classes, visited Malaysia palm oil fields (Sime Darby Plantation) and also a Malaysia office of Japanese company (TOTO MALAYSIA SDN. BHD.). All of the students stayed in K13 dormitory, and at night sessions, they tried traditional games, clothes and foods introduced by UPM buddy students.

Kyutech students joined the classes at 3 faculties of UPM; Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Biotech, and Faculty of Veterinary.
After joining the classes, the students said it was hard for them to understand the content of the class well enough. But seeing UPM students actively asking questions to the lecturers, it motivated Kyutech students to apply the same during the classes in Japan.
They also made a visit to Multimedia University (MMU) located about 20km away from UPM. Since MMU is an IT-focused university, they were able to experience cutting-edge technologies used in the classes, which is different than the classes in UPM.

In addition, this group had a chance to attend K13's annual dinner, Malam Gemilang Putra 2019 (MGP'19), which no Kyutech students have ever attended before.
The event took place at Hotel Tenera, Bandar Baru Bangi. UPM's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dato 'Dr. Aini Ideris, UPM Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Division and Alumni Association) Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan bin Sulaiman, and K13 Master, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu attended the event as VIP.
During the dinner, K13 also set up Certificate Presentation Ceremony session specially arranged for this mobility program.

Throughout the program, the students said that they had a very good experience in Malaysia and this program has changed their impression about foreign countries especially Malaysia. And the experience motivated them to actively participate in other mobility programs which will lead them to the future as a global engineer.
