HCMUT is ranked second in Vietnam in the field of engineering and plays a crucial role as a member of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, a key national institution. Kyutech and HCMUT signed an academic exchange agreement (MOU) in 2017. At that time, then-President Oie and Professor Hirofumi Tanaka(Department of Human Intelligence Systems, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering) , who was the liaison faculty member, visited HCMUT for the signing ceremony. This visit was conducted as a reciprocal gesture, with Professor Tanakaaccompanying the delegation throughout the itinerary.

On the day of the visit, the delegation first paid a courtesy visit to our President, Professor Mitani, where both universities reaffirmed their long-standing and active exchanges, including the double degree program, joint research, project proposals, and student participation in symposiums. Both universities agreed to further strengthen these collaborations.
