On March 24, 2025, Kyutech welcomed a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam, with whom we have an inter-university collaboration agreement, for a courtesy visit.
HCMUT is ranked second in Vietnam in the field of engineering and plays a crucial role as a member of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, a key national institution. Kyutech and HCMUT signed an academic exchange agreement (MOU) in 2017. At that time, then-President Oie and Professor Hirofumi Tanaka(Department of Human Intelligence Systems, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering) , who was the liaison faculty member, visited HCMUT for the signing ceremony. This visit was conducted as a reciprocal gesture, with Professor Tanakaaccompanying the delegation throughout the itinerary.
On the day of the visit, the delegation first paid a courtesy visit to our President, Professor Mitani, where both universities reaffirmed their long-standing and active exchanges, including the double degree program, joint research, project proposals, and student participation in symposiums. Both universities agreed to further strengthen these collaborations.
Subsequently, the delegation visited the Innovative Space Utilization Demonstration Laboratory at the Tobata Campus, followed by the Nakamura Memorial Hall Exhibition Room, where Professor Hanamoto(Department of Biological Functions Engineering, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering), Executive Director of the Meisenkai, provided an overview of the exhibits. In the afternoon, the delegation moved to Eco-Town to tour the Future Society Robot Implementation Center. They then proceeded to Wakamatsu Campus, where they visited the Next-Generation Power Electronics Research Center and the Neuromorphic AI Hardware Research Center. Throughout the visits, active discussions took place, and the delegation appeared to recognize the high level of research conducted at our university.
At the conclusion of the visit, President Mai Thanh Phong expressed his intention to further strengthen student and research exchanges between the two universities. Kyutech also looks forward to using this visit as an opportunity to build an even stronger collaborative relationship.
