Kyutech invited 1 faculty member and 4 students from Ain Shams University in Egypt to deepen international exchange through collaborative research on "International Collaborative Research on Plant Biotechnology to Improve Drought and Salt Stress Tolerance" (in charge: Associate Professor Shinya Ikeno of the Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering), from September 11 to October 1, 2024, under the SAKURA Science Exchange Program sponsored by JST.
In this project, we conducted collaborative research, cross-cultural exchange, tours of research facilities (RIKEN, Kobe University), research presentations, and laboratory tours. During this period, we participated in a symposium hosted by our university's Synthetic Biotechnology Research Center and deepened our interactions with the participants.
Through this series of activities, we were able to experience exchanges among students and the differences in each other's research environments and cultures, making it a very meaningful activity. In the future, we will strengthen the relationship between the universities and use it to develop collaborative research.
