From February 22 to March 1, 2024, 13 students and 2 faculty advisors from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) visited Tobata Campus to participate in the Kyutech-UiTM Student Mobility Program.
Under the facilitation of Associate Professor Hirofumi Saito (Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences, Institute of Liberal Arts), UiTM students worked in groups and discussed their ideas for activating global human mobility in Kitakyushu City. 5 students from Kyutech, who will be dispatched to UiTM in March also participated in this group work as part of their preparatory studies and built their networks with the UiTM students prior to the dispatch.
At the Wakamatsu Campus, the UiTM students visited the laboratory of Associate Professor Yoshito Ando (Dept. of Biological Functions Engineering, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering). In addition, under the guidance of Mr. Akinobu Mizutani (Dept. of Life Science and Systems Engineering, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering), they observed a robot demonstration operated by the student project “Hibikino-Musashi@Home”. At Kitakyushu Eco-Town Center, they visited an offshore wind power generation facility and learned about Kitakyushu City’s pioneering efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
