At the 6th International Conference on Imaging, Vision & Pattern Recognition (IVPR)&11th International Conference on Informatics, Electronics and Vision (ICIEV) held at University of East London from October 26th to 29th, 2023, Mr. Picard Lilian (graduated from master's course in the Department of Human Intelligence Systems, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering in this September) and Professor. Tomohiro Shibata (Department of Human Intelligence Systems, Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering) received the Excellent Working-in-progress Paper Award.
The paper was highly evaluated for presenting a method to convert an existing walker into an AI-assisted robot, testing the function to control the walker by face orientation not only on healthy subjects but also on Parkinson's disease patients, and analyzing the results for future improvements.
