The research project proposal of Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) has been selected for the FY 2023 Research and Development Project Support Project (Next-Generation Industrial Innovation Creation Project), Kitakyushu Foundation for the Advancement of Industry, Science and Technology (FAIS), and the research budget (total budget: 10 million yen) has been issued to the collaboration project with Aisan Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Jun Kato) as a joint research partner.
The project has been promoted under the principal investigator, Professor Hiroaki Wagatsuma, Department of Human Intelligence Systems, Kyutech.

Project Title: "Development of an Innovative Danger Information Detection System for the Commercialization of Self-Driving Buses using Logical Knowledge-Based AI that Enables the Incorporation of Tacit Knowledge of Bus-Skilled Drivers."
In collaboration with the Nishitetsu Group, Kyutech is developing technology for logical knowledge-based AI that systematically incorporates the tacit knowledge of bus-skilled drivers, to expand the possibilities of the automated driving bus in local communities. Aisan Technology Co., Ltd. provides support in the field of high-precision measurement and analysis of road spatial information required for the construction of safety assessment scenarios.
